Lopez Island Vineyards
Project: Website, product photography
Brent Charnely, owner and winemaker at Lopez Island Vineyards, approached me to redesign his website. His existing site lacked strong branding and eye appeal. Brent wanted his website to reflect not only the high quality of his products, but also the care with which his team approaches the craft of winemaking.
I began by incorporating the signature artwork of the Vineyards: a lino-block print by renowed island artist Diana Luhn Bower. Diana's print defines the header space and provides a repeating pattern for the body of the web pages. I photographed the wine bottles in situ at the winery, taking fortunate advantage of the lovely golden light of harvest time.
Bold, full-width photos introduce major product sections of the site, and each individual product page also includes a large, detailed photo of the wine bottle. Clear layout and typography define the pages devoted to information and education.
