Client: Personal Project

Project: Logo and printed publications

The Friends of Lopez Hill are an all-volunteer community organization dedicated to preserving Lopez Hill. The Hill is a 400-acre undeveloped, forested rocky hilltop in the heart of Lopez Island. There are over four miles of volunteer-built trails on the Hill, which are enjoyed by hikers, mountain bikers, naturalists, and others.

In the spring of 2006 the Friends of Lopez Hill were formed to counter the threat of development on the Hill. The group rallied the Lopez community, conservation groups, and the Washington State legislature to fund a land transfer that will preserve Lopez Hill in its natural state.

Lopez Hill is a project close to our hearts, and we have contributed countless hours of labor in building and maintaining the trail system. In addition, we designed the group’s logo and have created several printed pieces to help promote public awareness and stewardship of this very special place.
